The Application process

When the scheme is set up within an area, all licensees and representatives of the owning companies for chain premises, receive a letter of invitation and an application form. This serves as an audit of a wide range of issues on which robust policies should be in place, and as such, provides the basis of accreditation.

When the application is completed it will have taken the venue through all the issues it should have considered in compiling a meaningful operating schedule and consequently it is often used as a checklist for premises applying for a Premises Licence.

The content of the form is reviewed on an annual basis to allow issues of concern to be addressed and best practices to be developed. Ultimately by raising the bar year-on-year the scheme facilitates continuous improvement across the industry.
